Research Assistant - Threespine Stickleback Research


The student in this position will use molecular genetics techniques to carry out prevalence screening for a novel virus that infects the  Threespine Stickleback, a local forage fish.

Position Requirements

The position requires:

  • Experience with methods for DNA extraction from fish tissue
  • Use of quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) assays
  • Analysis of qPCR data
  • Facility in communicating research results orally and in writing
  • The ability to collaborate with community partners
