Michelle Daoust, MEd, CCC, Counsellor

Michelle Daoust

Welcome. I have enjoyed over twenty years of counselling practice in the fields of mental health, substance use, personal and career exploration. With deep respect and a sense of curiosity I offer you an open and emotionally safe environment where discoveries and awareness can lead to healing - a renewed sense of self and the ability to reconnect to what makes you feel fulfilled.

My work reflects the value I place on your strengths, capacity and resilience. To create a rich, dynamic and collaborative experience, I weave perspectives and approaches which support you as you navigate life's challenges. My framework is grounded in compassion and mindfulness - awareness and acceptance without judgement; is person-centred - you know you best and is humanistic/holistic - supporting the wellbeing of your mind, body, emotions and spirit embraced in a "here and now" approach to living.

I hold a membership in the Canadian Counselling Psychotherapy Association and The Centre for Mindful Eating Association. Certified MBTI faciliator; Level 1 Satir; Level 1 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

I celebrate nature through multiple outdoor activities, enjoy nourishment with all things cooking and baking and find joy in creating colorful things in my "art" room.

It will be my pleasure to be a part of your wellness plan during your time at VIU.
