Vancouver Island University Bursary Program
VIU Bursaries have been established through donor and institutional means to provide tuition relief for students with the greatest financial need.
Students who are not currently receiving government student loans must demonstrate financial need by providing documentation in their on-line bursary profile.
To apply for VIU Bursaries, students must complete the "Scholarship/Award/Bursary Profile" from their student record. See our Applications section for more information. The deadline date for submission of student profiles for Bursary consideration is October 31st.
Bursaries will be selected based on minimum course load requirements of 60%, grade point average requirements of 2.0 or better, specific donor criteria and information provided on the "Scholarship/Award/Bursary Profile". Students with a documented permanent disability may study at a reduced course load of 40%.

If selected to receive a bursary, funds will be applied directly to tuition fees for the spring semester.
Published bursary information is subject to change. Many of the bursaries are funded by interest earned on endowment funds established by very generous donors. The interest earned for the bursaries will vary with the financial markets.
