Yes, many of VIU's venues are available to businesses, non-profit organizations, government agencies, community groups and private groups, subject to availability and university policies.

Our facilities can accommodate conferences, meetings, training sessions, workshops, trade shows, banquets, weddings, theatre events, youth summer camps, summer accommodation and other special events.
Yes. Arbutus Catering services are available for all your catering needs, including licensed bar service. Menu options can be customized to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests. Please note, no outside food and beverages are allowed.
Most venues include standard presentation equipment including digital projector and screen. Additional equipment is available upon request.
Pay parking is in effect 12 months of the year, 8 am - 8 pm, Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays, at all parking lots on Campus. Alternatively, parking charges can be added to the event’s final invoice upon request.
Summer accommodations are available from mid May to late August. Contact conference and event services for group rates and availability.
External event organizers are required to carry liability insurance and provide proof of coverage before the event. Requirements depend on the nature and scope of the event.
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing at least fifteen (15) days prior to the event start date. Cancellations received six to fourteen (6-14) days prior to the scheduled event will be charged 50% of the original quoted price, inclusive of any non-refundable deposit paid. Cancellations made five (5) days or less prior to the event will be charged 100% of the original quoted price. Additionally, Renters may be liable for additional charges to compensate employees due to insufficient notice.
