Vancouver Island Work-Integrated Learning (VIWIL) is a collaborative partnership between Vancouver Island University (VIU) and North Island College (NIC) to enhance opportunities for work-integrated learning by connecting employers with students on Vancouver Island north of the Malahat.

This regionalized approach aims to bridge the gap between the institutions and local employers by providing supportive resources and access to an enhanced student pool with varying educational training with the goal of increasing the possibility that employer needs can be met. This is a significant step towards a systems approach that models the strength of collective effort, sharing of resources and collaborative ethos that results in greater benefit and opportunity for both students and industry partners.
