The Research Assistant conducted research to support faculty projects and assisted with editorial work and engaged in departmental promotion.

Position Overview

The Music Production assistant will assist faculty in the promotion and convening of concerts and workshops, as well as monitoring and overseeing student usage of music building facilities including the recording studio, MAC lab, keyboard lab, guitar and bass amplifiers, and listening room.

Together with a music department representative, the MPA will assist in developing music department activities and culture. They will act as student ambassador, and representative of the music department.

The student will be organizing music and potentially notating music using digital notation software when required. They will act as a student ambassador and representative of the music department and as an assistant to VIU ensembles including Big Band, Combo, Vocal Jazz, Choir, and College Singers. The student will also assist in developing and organizing the music library.
