How to get a position on campus
Vancouver Island University offers a range of on-campus employment & volunteer opportunities that fit around your academic schedule. These roles allow you to gain practical experience, develop transferable skills, and contribute to the campus community. Many on-campus positions are eligible for Co-Curricular Record (CCR) recognition, so your work experience can be formally recognized alongside your academic achievements. How to submit for CCR recognition
Step 1: Start by going to VIU’s Experience Hub platform and log in using your VIULearn username and password.
Step 2: On the menu on the left hand side click “Co-Curricular Record”. At the top of the page click “Search Experiences” and search for the position title. Once you find your position click “Add to Record” or the plus icon.
Step 3: Once you add the position to your record, click “Log hours”. To be eligible for Co-Curricular recognition you need 15 hours or more in the current time period.
Step 4: Next, add up to 6 competencies that you achieved in your position. Finally, add your reflection. Your reflection must be 75 words or more. You should discuss successes, challenges, and things you had learned through the posit
