Description

The Lead Athletics Assistant contributes toward the successful operation of all Mariner Athletics hosted events.

Position Requirements

The student is responsible for ensuring that all home events are well staffed, and put on in a professional manner in accordance with PACWEST/Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) regulations. In conjunction with the Coordinator, the Lead will engage an effective student event team, supervising the team to ensure event preparation, on-site supervision and post-event requirements are carried out at the highest possible standard. This person will interact directly with teams, coaches, spectators, officials, students and community groups and act as the initial point of contact.

The student should be dependable, punctual and hard working with good interpersonal skills. The Lead Athletics Assistant must have a positive, friendly attitude and be an excellent problem solver. A keen interest in working in an energetic and active environment is desired. The ability to work independently as well as lead a team are required. Must be able to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. The Lead Athletics Assistant should have an understanding of sports or a desire to work in a sports-related field.
