The Research Assistant works collaboratively from an indigenous perspective to assist the Elder-In-Residence with archiving and documenting Elder activities.
Position Requirements
The Research Assistant works collaboratively from an indigenous perspective to assist the Elder-In-Residence with archiving and documenting Elders at VIU. Using organizational skills, assist with cataloging, sorting and creating a visual document for display within the university. The goal is to create a vivid record of people, places, activities and accomplishments of the Elders-In-Residence.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Flexibility in work hours
- Ability to work independently
- Scan photographs
- Assist with descriptions
- Organize and archive
