Fall Student Ambassador - Aboriginal Activities

Description

The Student Ambassador works collaboratively from an indigenous perspective to assist in creating, planning and implementing aboriginal activities that enrich university life.

Position Requirements

The Student Affairs Student Ambassador works collaboratively with the department at Cowichan to assist in creating, planning, and implementing various activities that promote experiential learning.

The Ambassador participates in all aspects of events planning and implementation using organizational skills. They engage students by public speaking in classes and on-campus, conducting active recruitment for participation for on-campus student activities to a diverse student body. They value diverse cultures and lifestyles, including indigenous perspectives, and create a welcoming atmosphere at functions, feasts, films and fun activities.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Flexibility in work hours
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willing to lead and direct groups of students
  • Take photographs of events
  • Foodsafe certificate
