Description
The Music Production Assistant will assist faculty to promote and convene concerts and workshops, as well as monitor and oversee student usage of music building facilities. These facilities include the Recording Studio, MAC Lab, Keyboard Lab, guitar and bass amplifiers, and Listening Room.
Position Requirements
Together with a Music department representative, the MPA will assist in developing Music department activities and culture. They will act as student ambassador, and representative of the Music department.
1. Promotion: Assist faculty in the promotion and convening of concerts and workshops
2. Monitor and oversee student usage of music building facilities including:
- Recording Studio
- MAC Lab
- Keyboard Lab
- Guitar and bass amplifiers
- Listening Room
3. Reading (including literacy in Music)
- Ideal candidate will be music literate.
- Ideal candidate will be organizing music and potentially notating music (using digital notation software) when required.
4. Assist in developing Music Department activities and culture with Music department representative.
- Act as student ambassador and representative of the Music Dept.
- Assistant to VIU Ensembles including Big Band, Combo, Vocal Jazz Choir and College Singers
4. Music Librarian
- Assist in developing and organizing the music library.
