Description
The Summer Student Activity Leader assists the Intercultural and Group Programs team. This position helps facilitate cultural, recreational activities and day trips for international students. This student is engaged with international students.
Position Requirements
This student assists the Manager of Contracts and Group Programs with short term group programs. The programs are hosted by VIU's Faculty of International Education.
Activities include:
- Leading and participating in group activities (recreational and cultural)
- Completing administrative duties
- Setting up and cleaning up for activities (some heavy lifting may be required)
- Arranging logistics for activities, welcome receptions, and farewell events
This student also assists the Intercultural Program Coordinator and the Activity Program Coordinator with International student orientations and the organization, promotion, implementation and planning of various activities and events that bring International and Canadian students together.
Driving students to and from activities may be required (only with a valid Class 4 Drivers License).
Hours vary per week, with some late afternoon/evening and weekend work required.
