The Vice President of External Relations was the lead for external communications. responsibilities included professionally communicating with contacts and creating new partnerships while maintaining the integrity of the BSA.

Position Overview

The Business Students’ Association at Vancouver Island University is dedicated to providing business students with opportunities and experiences outside of the classroom in order to develop a network of professional, passionate, and community-focused leaders who are not afraid to continually incorporate the art of fun.

As the sole communications control of the BSA, the VP External is responsible for professionally communicating with contacts outside of the association with the overall intent to increase partnership opportunities. More specifically, the VP External is responsible for proposing partnership opportunities and maintaining current partnership relationships. The integrity of the BSA is maintained when communicating with all external organizations. The VP of External is also responsible for coordinating and planning with the Director of Merchandising to implement the BSA line of clothing. Lastly, included in the position is communicating and assigning tasks to the Director of Corporate Relations Academic and Social and the Merchandise Director that were in line with the societal strategy, reporting to the presidential team with potential concerns and progress on events, procedures, etc.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum time commitment for this position is four hours a week
