The Workshops and Competitions Director coordinated and built academic workshops and competitions for Faculty of Management students.

Position Overview

The Business Students’ Association at Vancouver Island University is dedicated to providing business students with opportunities and experiences outside of the classroom in order to develop a network of professional, passionate, and community-focused leaders who are not afraid to continually incorporate the art of fun.

As the coordinator of increasing the availability of academic workshops and competitions, responsibilities include increasing student advocacy through various aspects on campus. In addition, responsibilities include supporting the VP of Academics with planning, promoting, and creating content for workshops and competitions, as well as evaluating the need/want for a mentorship program and implementing it accordingly. Other responsibilities include providing more governance opportunities to Faculty of Management students by communicating with the Faculty of Management, Students’ Union, and Vancouver Island University on a departmental level.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum time commitment for this positions is three hours a week
