The VIU's Got Talent Planner contributes to the core planning, organizing, and implementation of the annual VIU's Got Talent event on campus. The show engages and connects students across various faculties by showcasing diversity and collaboration among students.
Position Requirements
The Fun@ VIU Committee is a program of the Office of Co-Curricular Engagement and Learning. The Committee is student-driven and supported by faculty and staff.
The Committee's purpose is to build opportunities for student engagement in the community. Fun@VIU creates initiatives for experiential leadership development by building upon the VIU Graduate Attributes.
VIU’s Got Talent is an annual event held at Vancouver Island University in which students and faculty have the opportunity to display their diverse talents. Auditions are held through video clip submission, and selected contestants are invited to compete in the finals. During the finals, contestants perform their talent in front of a panel of judges and a live audience.
Members of the VIU's Got Talent Planning Team are responsible for:
- Creating the core structure of the event
- Recruiting student competitors and volunteers
- Implementing the event within designated timeline and budget
The VIU's Got Talent Planning Team is led by the Fun@ VIU Chair team and Office of Co-Curricular Engagement and Learning staff. Members of this team may be allocated into specifically focused roles.
