Assumed overall responsibility for the governance and undertakings of the VIU MBA Association. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: establishing strategic priorities, chairing meetings, coordinating student sub-committees, and overseeing the VIU MBA Association and operations. 

Position Requirements

The Vancouver Island University (VIU) MBA Association is an autonomous not-for-profit society that is run by students for students. The Association exists to raise the profile of the VIU MBA Program and students on all levels (provincially, nationally and globally); to create connections between MBA students and the wider business community; and to foster next generation leadership with a strong code of ethics and the pursuit of professional excellence. A key activity for the VIU MBA Association is to raise funds for and compete in all levels of MBA competitions.

The President is responsible for day-to-day leadership of the VIU MBA Association. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: chairing meetings, coordinating student groups, strategic oversight of the VIU MBA Association’s operations, regular meetings with executive team, regular meetings with University leadership, and representing the organization on campus, in the community and in media. Specifically, the President helps to organize all events leading to participation in competing in MBA competitions such as the BC MBA Games and the National MBA Games. (Min. time commitment: 400 hrs.).

Sign-up Directions

The President is a selected through a competitive process including nomination and interview by a selection committee comprised of past MBA Association presidents, MBA Coaches and the Director of Graduate Studies/Faculty. The recruitment process commences in early to mid-fall semester.
