Social Media Coordinator - Vancouver Island Leadership Conference

The Social Media Coordinator organizes all social media accounts for the Vancouver Island Leadership Conference (VILC).  They maintain the VILC email account and update the website with new content.  The Social Media Coordinator collaborates with all the other members within the VILC to create cohesiveness across all facets of the conference.

Position Requirements

The Vancouver Island Leadership Conference (VILC) is sponsored through the Office of Co-Curricular Engagement and Learning.  VILC hosts over 10 annual student-led, non-profit conferences.  These conferences connect students with a passion for leadership and engage local community business networks.

It is the mission of the conference to provide students with the best tools to not only build a better community through leadership, but also empower diverse thinking in the ever-changing world.

Responsibilities of the Social Media Coordinator include:

  • Coordinate all VILC social media accounts (including, but not limit to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube)
  • Maintain the VILC email account
  • Update the website with new content
  • Post content during the event and live stream information across the platforms.
  • Create a 'highlight' account of the event
  • Provide feedback after the event

The Social Media Coordinator will further collaborate with all the other members within the VILC to create cohesiveness across all facets of the conference.

There will be three major roles for this event such as Pre Event, During The Event, and Post Event to ensure that promotional material is circulated and that everyone knows their schedules.
