Position Overview

As a Social Media Coordinator for the Vancouver Island Leadership Conference (VILC), the individual is responsible for managing all social media platforms associated with the conference. This includes creating and scheduling content, engaging with the audience, and growing the conference's online presence. The coordinator is expected to maintain regular email communications, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and up-to-date with the latest conference news and updates. Additionally, the role involves updating and managing the conference website content to ensure accuracy and relevance. Collaboration with the marketing team is crucial to maintain a unified branding across all digital platforms. The position offers an opportunity to enhance digital marketing skills, as the coordinator will be involved in strategizing and executing online marketing campaigns to promote the conference and attract attendees. The role requires a mix of creativity, technical skills, and an understanding of digital marketing trends to effectively represent the VILC online.

Position Requirements

  • Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn),
  • Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social),
  • Strong writing and content creation skills,
  • Knowledge of email marketing software (Mailchimp, Constant Contact),
