Social Media Manager - MBA Association

Actively promotes the VIU MBA Association and its events and activities on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.

Position Requirements 

The Vancouver Island University (VIU) MBA Association is an autonomous not-for-profit society that is run by students for students. The Association exists to raise the profile of the VIU MBA Program and students on all levels (provincially, nationally and globally); to create connections between MBA students and the wider business community; and to foster next generation leadership with a strong code of ethics and the pursuit of professional excellence. A key activity for the VIU MBA Association is to raise funds for and compete in all levels of MBA competitions.

Reporting to the VP Marketing and Communications, the Social Media Manager actively promotes the VIU MBA Association and organization events and activities on popular Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. The manager also designs the social media strategy for the MBA Association when competing in the MBA Games competitions (minimum time commitment 75 hours).

Important Role Information: Regularly updating all of the Association’s social media pages. Regularly coordinating with the photographer/ videographer to collect and post pictures of VIU MBA Association events and activities. Attend all executive and general meetings.

Sign-up Directions

The Social Media Manager is selected through a competitive process including an application and interview by a selection committee comprised of current/past MBA Association presidents, MBA Coaches and the Director of Graduate Studies/Faculty. The recruitment process commences in early to mid-fall semester.
