Student Library Intern - Work-Op position

Description

The Student Library Intern (Work-Op) will learn and contribute to VIU campus community engagement that supports VIU Library initiatives and events. This work includes creative and innovative promotion of Indigenous library initiatives including Language in the Library events. It also supports future implementation of federated identity management.

Position Requirements

The Student Library Intern (Work-Op) will help plan and organize a series of activities to engage the VIU campus community. These activities involve learning and participating in Language in the Library events, and other Indigenous initiatives of the Library.

Student Library Intern (Work-Op) duties could include:

  • Developing and distributing promotional materials and invitations
  • Promoting events in classes and campus events
  • Participating in scheduling and planning
  • Assisting with and participating in Library events

The position may support Library experiential opportunities and initiatives pertaining to decolonizing objectives and activities identified in the VIU Library Strategic Plan.

Tasks in support of federated identity management may include data entry, production of student ID cards, and related work.
