Residence Life is the comprehensive program that surrounds living on campus. The Program Leaders enhance the residents' experience by hosting events and delivering services that build residents' engagement with their peers, develop resiliency, and enrich their co-curricular experience.
Position Requirements
As the Intercultural Programs assistant, this Work-Op student is expected to:
- Plan and execute a CommuniTree Connections event (Thursdays at 7 PM) at least once per month
- Plan and execute a minimum of one additional activity each month, providing an educational program or service
- Host the International Student Mixer during the ResTide Storm the Shore Residences Orientation Program
- Collaborate with campus partners such as International Education, and encourage resident participation in events such as Cultural Couch, World VIU Days, and Global Citizens Week
- Provide International Education with recommendations of students who could lead Cultural Couch events
Program Leaders (PLs) are an integral part of Residence Life. The Program Leaders enhance the residents’ experience by hosting events and delivering services that build residents’ engagement with their peers, develop resiliency, and enrich their co-curricular experience.
By fostering community spirit through the organization of social and educational events, PLs are highly visible and engaging members of the residence community.
