Residence Life is the comprehensive program that surrounds living on campus. The Summer Orientation Assistant researches and plans Storm the Shore Residence Orientation activities.
Position Requirements
The Student Residences seek two highly involved campus leaders to assist in the planning of the Fall ResTide Orientation, an optional first-week orientation. The event is focused on providing incoming students with a formal welcome and introduction to the residence life community at VIU, setting them up for success in the academic year ahead.
The ResTide Orientation Assistants will be responsible for working with the Residence Life team to research and plan orientation activities for Fall while collaborating with other campus departments and aligning activities with the VIU Graduate Attributes.
The goal of these positions is to help in developing an orientation program that provides residents with the opportunity to gain hours towards a co-curricular record notation for involvement in Residence Life programs.
