Succeed with Dining Dollars
Time is precious when you are a busy student with deadlines to meet. Relying on fast foods and sugary snacks can be a tempting way to get through your day, but did you know that what you eat, plays a significant role in your personal well-being and academic performance? Regular meals, made with fresh, nutritious ingredients, helps you maintain steady energy levels and can even improve your concentration.
Why should I use Dining Dollars?
Enjoy fresh wholesome food
When there’s no need to food shop, prep or clean up after your daily meals, you have more time to focus on your studies, get involved on campus and spend time on things that make you happy.
Simplify your life
With Dining Dollars you enjoy discounted rates on every dinner you purchase and have the comfort of knowing that you have set aside money for your weekday meals for the term. Also, there’s no need to carry cash with you each day!
Eat together with friends
Sharing meal time with friends is good for the soul and happiness is crucial to doing your best.
Be kind to your budget
Unlike some other university meal plans, with Dining Dollars, you will not be charged for meals you miss, and if you don’t spend it all, your balance carries over to the next semester (carrying a balance between academic years incurs an administrative fee).
How do Dining Dollars work?
Using Dining Dollars at VIU is easy.
Simply choose the meal plan option that suits your budget and appetite and load your student card with the appropriate balance. Your balance is drawn down, each time you use it – like a gift card to yourself (with a few extra benefits!).
Students paying with Dining Dollars receive special pricing on certain items each semester.
