The Program Leader enhanced the residents' experience by hosting events and delivering services that build residents' engagement with their peers, develop resiliency, and enrich their co-curricular experience.
Position Overview
As the Communication and Campus Life assistant, this student is expected to manage a professional and engaging presence on all of the ResTide’s social media accounts to promote residence life and campus life programs, contests, and announcements, post at least weekly on all platforms, update the ResLife Calendar with residence life and campus life activities and events, and follow and monitor individual house social media accounts. They will also represent Residence Life on the Student Leadership Circle, collaborate with campus partners such as VIUSU, Student Affairs, Marketing & Communications, Co-Curricular Engagement, and Enrollment Services, and provide the Office of Co-Curricular Engagement with referrals of students who could lead Campus Life activities.
Position Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work remotely
- Social Media design/management
- Understanding of and familiarity with diverse social media platforms
- Leadership experience
- Participation or understanding of training programs
- Understanding of community building principles
- Experience living in VIU Student Residences Training
- Video Production/editing experience
- Experience working with design platforms (ie. Canva)
