Description
The Talk to Me Campaign Coordinator coordinates and delivers events on campus to promote a mental health wellness campaign called "Talk to Me". This involves helping students connect to one another face to face, and challenges them to question their use of electronic technology and social media on their mental health. This position promotes the campaign on social media and completes an evaluation of events.
Position Requirements
- Organize, manage and deliver Talk to Me events that promote healthy interpersonal connections amongst students in an effort to increase good mental health and well-being on campus (in collaboration with VIU Counselling staff and/or the Mental Health Strategist)
- Research similar events and resources at other post-secondary institutions and liaise with others as needed
- Create and/or adapt wellness educational resources for Talk to Me campaign purposes
- Recruit and train volunteers to help generate momentum and enthusiasm for T2M events
- Role model 'connecting' to people (i.e. meeting new people, starting up random conversations on campus)
- Participate in meetings to consult and collaborate with Counselling faculty
- Present ideas and discuss needs for the event (e.g. printing, booking space)
- Complete basic evaluations of the success of events in collaboration with the Counselling team
- Prepare and organize up to date website material to promote events/campaign
- Utilize social media to promote and market T2M events
