Description
A Peer Access Coach assists new students with their transition to university. The coaching model consisted of supporting diverse learners to define their campus goals, brainstorm possibilities, develop an action plan and follow-up. Preference will be given to Upper Year students who are knowledgeable about Disability Access Supports and have strong academic skills.
Position Requirements
A returning student will provide one-to-one peer coaching support to new students. The coaching will consist of two 30 minute coaching sessions per week, on-campus using a collaborative coaching model. The model will consist of supporting the students to define their campus goals, brainstorm possibilities, develop an action plan and follow-up. Participation includes weekly de-brief/training meetings and mandatory training.
