Bio

I am Emma (she/her)- a queer social worker, counsellor, fitness instructor, and settler of mixed European ancestry, who grew up in the Prairies on Treaty 7 and 6 land. Until recently, I called Calgary home, a place where I spent most of my life.

I am so grateful to have the privilege of living, working, and playing as an uninvited guest on the unceded and traditional territory of the Cowichan and Penelakut Tribes, as well as the, Halalt, Lyackson, Stz'uminus, and Snuneymuxw First Nations. Vancouver Island is beautiful (of course!), which is why it is so special to spend time in nature, connecting with my people, dogs, and body through intentional movement.

For our work together, I draw on a range of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, internal family systems, strengths-based, solution focused therapy, and somatic based approaches, all with a queer and trauma-informed lens. I earned my Master of Social Work from Toronto Metropolitan University and am a Registered Social Worker. My experiences include working with individuals facing serious mental health concerns such as psychosis, supporting individuals with neurodivergence, intervening in crisis situations, and providing a safe space for 2SLGBTQ+ people. I look forward to supporting you, hearing your stories, and working towards positive change for your mental wellness.
