Welcome to Mariners Athletics!
With a history that includes 16 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national championships, VIU Mariners student-athletes have long represented excellence in collegiate athletics.
Our men's and women's soccer, basketball, and volleyball varsity teams compete in British Columbia's Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) Conference, which is one of six conferences in the CCAA. Check out a game and see why VIU Mariners fans are considered the best in the PACWEST. Admission is free for VIU students!

Our national league: The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA)
The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association was founded in 1974 and governs collegiate athletics through six conferences and nearly 100 schools across Canada. The CCAA facilitates national championships and provides national awards and recognition to CCAA student-athletes, coaches, athletic directors and member institutions. The CCAA All-Canadian and Academic All-Canadian awards are two of the highest honours a student-athlete can receive in Canada.
