Description
Students in this position are focused on understanding the processes and practices that help and hinder student engagement in a particular academic unit. They will explore ways to enhance student engagement through revised program design, and will create opportunities for in-class and out-of-class participation.
Position Objectives
In response to our most recent Program Review, the Media Studies Department has identified various aspects of Student Engagement to further explore and enhance.
These include:
- Developing a better understanding of the pathways followed by program alumni
- Mapping out changes in the personal desires of students coming into the program
- Encouraging more declared majors
- Creating opportunities for greater in-class and out-of-class communication and engagement
Graduate Attributes
Students in this position will gain skills in Written Communication, Information Literacies, Collaboration, Capacity to Engage in Respectful Relationships.
