Event Planner – Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies – Humanities

Description

The student in this position planned the two feast days held by Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies at the end of the fall and spring semesters. The student organized and coordinated student participation including planning, preparation, and menu planning, as well as coordinating the event on the day, including Master of Ceremonies assistance, and organizing and supervising set-up and clean-up of the feast venue. The student also sought support for the event from local communities.

Position Requirement

This position entails planning the two feast days held by Indigenous/Xwulmuxw Studies at the end of Fall and Spring semesters.

 The successful candidate will work together with the department supervisor to plan and implement the various stages of the event. Duties include organizing and coordinating student participation, including planning, preparation, menu planning, seeking support from local communities, coordinating the event on the day, providing Master of Ceremonies assistance, and organizing and supervising set-up and clean-up of the feast venue.
