Description
The research lab assistant will be responsible for liaison and facilitation of lab member volunteers, assisting in preparation of grant proposals and ethics proposals, data entry and analysis for various projects, maintenance of the lab website and database, assisting with weekly lab meetings and other special purpose meetings or events. The assistant will also be involved with maintaining and ordering lab equipment and supplies as needed and assisting directors with financial record keeping.
Position Requirements
- Good communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of SPSS helpful. Ability to use Zoom. Minimum 3rd year standing with a strong academic record. Major in psychology required. Knowledge of statistics and webpage design preferred.
- This work op position will be supervised by the Directors of the Resilience Research Lab in the Psychology Department.
- Students who are planning on working in or with community organizations or students who are planning on attending graduate school will be interested in this position as they will have the necessary research experience and research skills sought by organizations and graduate programs.This position will increase students' knowledge of developmental psychology and resilience, create networks of contacts in the area and will give them knowledge in the development of programs in their community.
- Students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom, outside the classroom, within the context of a vibrant, functioning and challenging research environment.
- Students will be attending regular lab meetings with fellow students and faculty, including Directors, Ruth Kirson and Caroline Burnley and faculty member, Stephanie McKenzie. There will also be additional training sessions and meetings outside of designated lab meetings.
