Sheila Boyce, MSW

Sheila drinking a mug of tea

As the Mental Health Access Specialist here in Accessibility Services, I have the incredible opportunity to meet with and support folks in their academic pursuits as well as manage their personal concerns with mental health.

I have held other positions at VIU including Counsellor and Academic Advisor at the Cowichan Campus, Practicum Coordinator for Health and Social Service Programs, and Sessional instructor in Bachelor of Social Work and Community Mental Health Programs. My education background is in Social Work (MSW) and professional background in Mental Health and Addictions, Trauma and Family Counselling as well as Child Protection.

I LOVE what I do! I love to laugh and look for the lighter side and comedy in pretty much everything. On a personal note – I have a somewhat unnatural relationship with Earl Grey tea – and would be happy to make you a cup should we ever meet in my office!

Take care of your FABULOUS SELF and have a great year here at Vancouver Island University!
