Hi and Welcome to VIU! I’m Christie Wittig and I’m a Mental Health Access Specialist at VIU. Over the past thirteen years, I’ve worked with a wide range of people pursuing new directions in their lives, first as a Career Counsellor, then as a Clinical Counsellor and now in Accessibility Services.
Most of my spare time is spent with my husband, our children, our dog, Zoe, and our two cats, Finnegan and Cooper. We love camping and exploring the beaches and forests of Vancouver Island, and feel lucky to live in such an amazing part of the world. I also love drawing, reading, travel and playing the piano. What I love most about my work is the way I get to connect with students; I feel continually inspired by peoples’ humour, resilience, persistence and dreams.
