Ciao. I'm the part-time Access Technician for Accessibility Services. I mainly work with alternate textbooks (also known as e-text), as well as a myriad of access support, including exam invigilation, tracking equipment, scooter loans and finding supportive chairs in classrooms.
I stumbled into Nanaimo and Accessibility Services late in life, but despite being slow to find my career niche, I consider myself fortunate to have a paying gig that converges three particular joys of my life: books, academia, and helping students find success. And the icing on the cake is working alongside such an amazing and supportive team here at VIU.
When I'm not at VIU, my other pleasures are reading and writing literary fiction, cycling, Iyengar yoga, kayaking, gardening, and just about anything Italian.
