The Fall Archaeology Catalogue Assistant position involves handling and inventorying a range of artefacts and faunal remains using archaeological lab techniques to produce a searchable database. This position is sponsored by the VIU Anthropology department.
Position Requirements
Are you interested in archaeology? Thinking about a career in museums? Want some experience handling real artefacts and faunal remains?
As Archaeology Catalogue Assistant, you will be responsible for handling and inventorying a range of artefacts and faunal remains.
This includes:
- Inspecting the objects to discern what they are, which will involve some research
- Creating a basic inventory where each object is numbered and described in a digital catalogue
- Evaluating the condition of the object
- Suggesting possible conservation needed
