The Criminology Research Assistant helps with administrative duties including a newsletter, webpage, and posters. Assistance may also include interviewing and writing for newsletter.

Position Requirements

The Research Assistant position supports ongoing faculty research in the Criminology department. This position will provide the student with hands-on exposure to conducting criminological research, which is ideal for a candidate considering graduate studies and/or with an interest in conducting academic research. The student in this position will gain a wide-range of research experience that will students obtain practical experience that will help them conduct their own research in the future and be able to critically evaluate others' research as well.

Duties include:

  • Reviewing and summarizing relevant literature (primarily in the policing literature)
  • Project management
  • Data entry, coding, and cleaning/editing
  • Communicating and coordinating with community members and organizations
