Events Coordinator Assistant - Recruitment and Retention

Description

This student position assists the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, working directly with the Recruitment, Retention, and Events Coordinator (RREC) to develop promotional materials including web pages, videos, social media and other initiatives.

Position Overview

The Events Coordinator assists the RREC with Arts and Humanities events, and works together with the Office of Enrollment Management.

Duties include:

  • Recruitment and retention events assistance (Rock the VIU, Open House, Discovery Days)
  • Enhancing the social-media profile of Arts and Humanities (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc.)
  • Creation of print materials for Arts and Humanities events
  • Meeting regularly with the Dean of Arts and Humanities to provide updates on projects and activities
  • Assisting Arts and Humanities departments to develop experiential opportunities
  • Support liaison activities with high schools
  • Build an archival system, an ongoing repository of activities and initiatives
