Description
Residence Life is the comprehensive program that surrounds living on campus. Store the Shore Orientation Participants are VIU students who participate in the VIU Annual Storm the Shore Residences Orientation Program.
Position Requirements
As an orientation participant, students are expected to work with fellow residents, student leaders (Community Leaders and Program Leaders) and residence life staff to create a positive community-building environment.
Responsibilities associated with role this include:
- Following community standards
- Attending and contributing to orientation programming
- Engaging in respectful relations with all members of the community
Storm the Shore participants are responsible for:
- Collaborative engagement
- Program attendance and participation
- Respectful relationship building within the context of their pods, floors, buildings, and greater ResTide community
Skills community members will use over the course of their term include, but are not limited to:
- Independent living
- Respectful/ inclusive relationship building
- Collaborative/creative/critical thinking
- Effective communication
