Student Wellness Promoters (SWPs) worked to enhance the mental wellness of VIU students across campus. SWPs promoted, organized, delivered, and participated in a number of mental health and wellness initiatives and events around campus. Through student driven and student led events, the SWPs sought to increase resilience, connection, and well-being among VIU students.

Position Overview

Student Wellness Promoters (SWPs) work to enhance the mental wellness of VIU students across campus. SWPs promote, organize, deliver, and participate in a number of mental health and wellness initiatives and events around campus including events like Thrive Week, Bell Let’s Talk Day, and the Biometrics Screening Day. Student Wellness Promoters also facilitate the Talk to Me program, which aims to reduce isolation and increase connection among students on campus. Through student-driven and student-led events, the SWPs seek to increase resilience, connection, and wellbeing among VIU students.

Graduate Attributes Associated

Students in this position will gain skills in oral and written communication, integrative learning, creative thinking, collaboration, and capacity to engage in respectful relationships.
