Description
The Fall Marketing and Communications Assistant position engages with the on-campus and outside community. The position works in a collegial and collaborative environment with a focus on building awareness of the CREATE Student Conference.
Position Requirements
Assist with the following:
- Identify who would be interested in attending CREATE from outside the VIU community, then develop and implement a plan to get the word out to these groups and individuals.
- Identify how to inform students about all aspects of CREATE, then implement those ideas.
Most time will be spent with a small team including the Supervisor and VIU Marketing and Communications representative.
Together, the team will:
- Market and communicate various aspects of CREATE
- Garner VIU community interest
- Find potential student participants
- Inform people about the conference
Ideally the position will be supported with a dedicated volunteer team.

This is a Work-Op position. More details can be found when available on CareerVIU Work-Integrated Learning. A cover letter and CV will be required. The cover letter should highlight any event marketing and communication experience. You may attach visual examples (max 3 pictures) of work completed.
