Volunteer Team Member - CREATE Student Conference

Description

Create Volunteer Team members enable the CREATE Student Conference to be well communicated to internal and external parties. They facilitate conference logistics, and ensure the overall coordination of the conference.

Position Requirements

Volunteer Team members work under the leadership of the CREATE Volunteer Coordinator. Hours will fluctuate depending on timelines. Team members will provide their availability, interests and skills.

Based on these attributes, the Volunteer Coordinator will assign roles and hours. It will be predominantly a team-based environment, but some independent work will also be necessary. Hours will mostly fall between Monday to Friday during regular working hours during the Fall and Spring semesters.

CREATE 2021 is scheduled for late Spring and there will be volunteer requirements during this time. Team members should demonstrate an enthusiasm for campus activities, learning/research engagement, and helping others.

Specific roles may include:

  • Communications team (posters, write-ups, social media, on-campus info sessions)
  • Logistics team (set up, tear down, runners)
  • Info. team (helping participants and attendees with where to go and what to do)
  • Technical team (setting up computers/loading slides)

Sign-up Directions

Volunteer Team members will have a varied selection of tasks to engage in. Hone your strengths and work on new skills!

Roles in the Fall semester will be predominantly based on communications. The Spring semester will build momentum until the conference in April. During the conference, we will need many hands on deck in an assortment of positions – logistics, information, technical, and leadership.

To apply, please fill out the volunteer form.

Indicate that you would like to have your volunteer time captured in your Co-Curricular Record. The CREATE 2020 Volunteer Coordinator will connect when possible after your application is completed.
