Learn Mindfulness on Campus
Join VIU Counsellor Art Phipps for 8 weeks of mindfulness including a one day retreat. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is based on the work of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn who, in 1979, began to teach patients the fundamentals of meditation to aid in stress reduction. This program now has a body of research demonstrating its benefits for a wide variety of people.
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Increase calm and clarity
- Increase resilience and enthusiasm for life
- Practice Mindfulness
- Manage stress and emotions
- Slow down to nourish and care for yourself
This group is free! A 30 minute pre-group interview is mandatory to join.
