Description
The Student Residences is seeking highly involved campus leader to assist in the development and implementation of Residence Life programming in the 2021-22 academic. The ResLife Program Assistants will be responsible for working with the Residence Life team to research and develop community building programs, collaborating with other campus departments and aligning programs with the graduate attributes.
Position Overview
- Assist with the ordering, acquiring and selecting of programming material.
- Develop a virtual and in-person programming model for the fall semester.
- Assist with the researching, designing and development of the residence life program for next year as we develop curriculum programming model, Assist with the editing, review and update of our community standards handbook.
- The goal of this position is to help support community-building programs that provide residents and student leaders with the opportunity to gain hours towards a co-curricular record notation for involvement in Residence Life programs.
Position Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Leadership experience
- Understanding of VIU's co-curricular record program
- Understanding of community building principles
- Experience implementing curriculum-based programs
- Ability to work remotely
