The Mariners student-athlete participated in Pacific Western Athletic Association (PACWEST) which is associated with the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The Mariners program has a strong focus on academic achievement alongside athletic success while fostering a commitment to community engagement.
Position Requirements
The Athletic Program at Vancouver Island University (VIU) is directed towards providing students with a relevant personal educational experience via athletic participation and achievement. It is the view of the department that the athletic experience is an integral part of the educational process. The Mariners program has a strong focus on academic achievement alongside athletic success while fostering a commitment to community engagement.
Sign-Up Directions
Varsity team members are recruited by Mariners coaches or have successfully attended “try-outs” to become a part of a varsity team.
