Description

The Talk to Me (T2M) program seek to reduce isolation and create connections among students through events and opportunities to build social skills. T2M volunteers assist in the creation and delivery of VIU T2M events. they encourage student participation in events and activities, and they help build connections between students.

Position Requirements

The Talk to Me program seeks to reduce isolation and create connections among students through events and opportunities to build social skills. Talk to Me (T2M) volunteers assist in delivering T2M activities including events, challenges and workshops. 

T2M events include speed friending, which is an opportunity to meet several new people, build connections, and practice social and conversation skills. T2M challenges include a variety of activities which seek to encourage student reflection around social media and technology usage and how technology can sometimes be a barrier to true human connection. T2M workshops are sessions designed to promote social skill and conversational skill development.

T2M volunteers assist in the creation and delivery of VIU T2M events, encourage student participation in events and activities, and help build connections between students.

Talk to Me volunteer opportunities are on-going throughout the school year. To learn more, visit the Talk to Me (T2M) program website. If you are interested in being part of the T2M program and its activities please email TalktoMe@viu.ca.

You can participate in as many or as few T2M events as you like; however, to qualify as a Co-Curricular Record (CCR) activity you will need to complete a minimum of 15 hours of volunteering throughout the academic year.
