The Campus Tour Volunteer engages with prospective students, parents and families, and a variety of visitors to campus. They provide professional and knowledgeable representation of the institution.
Position Requirements
The Campus Tour Volunteers work within the Student Ambassador Program. They engage with prospective students, parents and families, and a variety of visitors to campus. Campus Tour Volunteers are responsible for providing professional and knowledgeable representation of the institution, and are often the first face that a prospective student sees on campus. Campus Tour Volunteers complete an institutional orientation as well as campus tour training. They participate in monthly Student Ambassador Meetings.

Students in this position will gain skills in information literacies, oral communication, safe and ethical practices, collaboration, active learning and capacity to engage in respectful relationships.

To qualify for the Student Ambassador Program you must:
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Meet an expectation of ongoing professionalism by being responsible and reliable
- Possess strong English communication skills
- Be excited about sharing positive experiences at VIU with new students and their families
- Be aware of the responsibility of being a mentor and role model
