Event Volunteer - Student Ambassadors


Event Volunteers engage with prospective students, parents, and families, and a variety of visitors during specific events on or off campus.  These events include Discovery Days and Recruitment Fairs.

Position Requirements

Event Volunteers work within the Student Ambassador Program.  They engage with prospective students, parents and families and a variety of visitors during specific events on or off campus (for example, Discovery Days, Recruitment Fairs).  Event Volunteers are responsible for providing professional and knowledgeable representation of the institution.  Event Volunteers complete an orientation and participate in the monthly Student Ambassador Meetings.

Students who wish to apply must:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Meet an expectation of ongoing professionalism by being responsible and reliable
  • Possess strong English communication skills
  • Be excited about sharing positive experiences at VIU with new students and their families
  • Be aware of the responsibility of being a mentor and role model
