Fall Intercultural Project Assistant - Intercultural Program


The Fall Intercultural Project Assistant assists the Intercultural Program Coordinator with planning, promotion and execution of events and activities, with special attention given to the weekly Cultural Couch Series.

Position Requirements

This position reports to the Intercultural Program Coordinator.

The Intercultural Project Assistant has the following responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of projects and events focused on enhancing the student experience
  • Assist with research, promotion, facilitation and execution of the projects and events
  • Contribute student perspective to meetings and event planning process
  • Engage with peers for research and promotion
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials including posters, student handbooks, social media, photo contests, etc.

Project work may be related, but not limited to the following programs:

  • English Language Centre Orientations
  • Peer Helper Program
  • Cultural Connections Activities
  • The Cultural Couch Series
  • Select special events or projects such as WorldVIU Days.

Hours will vary (up to 20 hours per week), with some evening and weekend work required.
