Overview
The RockVIU Event Lead is a pivotal role responsible for spearheading the New Student Orientation at RockVIU. This position involves a range of duties including the coordination of various events that are integral to the orientation program. The Event Lead is expected to work closely with faculty members and various committees to ensure that the orientation events align with the institution's goals and meet the needs of incoming students. Effective liaison with these groups is crucial for the seamless execution of the orientation. Additionally, the role demands the enhancement of communication and project management skills, as the Event Lead will be overseeing the project timelines, resource allocation, and ensuring that all stakeholders are kept informed throughout the process. The RockVIU Event Lead plays a key role in setting the tone for new students and making their transition to the institution a welcoming and informative experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning and management,
- Strong leadership and team management skills,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities,
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello),
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including faculty, committees, and vendors,
- Experience in budgeting and financial management for events,
- Knowledge of marketing and promotion strategies for events,
- Familiarity with risk management and contingency planning,
- Competence in using social media platforms for event promotion and engagement,
- Understanding of the educational sector and student orientation needs.
