Residence Life is the comprehensive program that surrounds living on campus. The Resident Advisor assists in creating a healthy, safe, and thriving residential community environment where students gain experience, are actively involved, and develop their interpersonal, academic, and leadership potential.
Position Requirements
Resident Advisors (RA's) are an integral part of VIU Student Residences staff. The Resident Advisors assist in creating a healthy, safe, and thriving environment where students can gain experience, be involved, and develop their interpersonal, academic, and leadership potential.
Essential to the Residence experience, RA's are in place to encourage success and personal growth in students living on campus. By fostering community spirit through the organization of social and educational events, RA's are highly visible and engaging members of the Residence community. Providing leadership and support to their community, Resident Advisors nurture a safe and healthy Residence in which they maintain, model, and assist in the enforcement of community standards.
There's a minimum time commitment of 200 hours for this position.
