The su'luqw'a' Community Cousins are Aboriginal student leaders who participate in mentorship training with an Elder and student facilitators to develop leadership skills and build community.

There is a minimum time commitment of 40 hours for this participation.

Position Requirements

The su'luqw'a' Community Cousins participate in mentorship training with an Elder and student facilitators to develop leadership skills and build community.

Mentors assist incoming students in creating and encouraging connections to successfully transition into post-secondary both at VIU and with our Aboriginal community partners.

Opportunities are provided to develop leadership qualities and foster reconciliation through collaboration with other on campus student leadership groups including the VIU Student Ambassadors, International Peer Helpers and Student Resident Advisors.

There is a minimum time commitment of 40 hours for this participation.
